Become a Better Writer- Virtual Workshop Series

Become a Better Writer - Virtual Workshop Series

January 30 and February 6:  7 to 8pm CST via WebEx

Instructor: Paul Foxworth

Part 1: What Makes Good Writing? - January 30

Many people think writing papers is hard. It does not have to be. With a few guidelines and some practice, anyone can improve his/her writing. You first need to know good writing when you see it. The presenter, with over 30 years of academic and corporate writing experience, will illustrate with examples and provide ideas.

Part 2:  Enhancing Your Writing Style - February 6

The goal of writing is clarity, which comes from controlling sentence length, using effective transitions, and building better paragraphs. Whether the goal is to inform or to persuade the reader, some common sense adjustments to the writing style can yield huge results. Participants will have opportunities to practice new techniques and enhance their own unique style.
