The Assistance & Support for Students in Sudden Transition Program is designed to help students who have experienced a sudden, unexpected job loss prepare for a new position through financial initiatives and career coaching. As a not-for-profit organization, Lake Forest Graduate School of Management is dedicated to supporting students so they do not have to interrupt their education while in transition.

ASSIST Scholarship:  Students may qualify for up to a 30% scholarship on tuition for twelve months while they are in career transition, whether they choose to pay tuition out of pocket or opt to finance tuition through the use of student loans. Students already receiving a scholarship may also qualify. Tuition will be free of interest and finance fees for the first 60 days after the invoice is issued. Student interested in financial aid must contact the Financial Aid Office at FinAid@lfgsm.edu 

It is requested that all students re-apply each term by submitting a new ASSIST application. Application deadlines are listed below.

To be eligible, the student must be:

  • Currently enrolled as an MBA student and completed at least one course
  • Experienced an involuntary layoff; doesn't include voluntary or termination of employment
  • In good standing with LFGSM, financially and academically
  • Actively seeking employment

 To participate, a LFGSM MBA student is required to:

  1. Contact Financial Aid ( FinAid@lfgsm.edu ) to schedule an appointment to discuss financing options, scholarships, etc.
  2. Contact careerservices@lfgsm.edu to schedule an appointment with a career coach to map our a job search strategy. 
  3. Actively work with the LFGSM Career Coach. Students not working with one of our coaches may lose eligibility to continue in ASSIST.
